About the Creator & Contact Form

Hi. I'm Jessica.

I'm an OT doctoral student at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. I enjoy challenging the norm, asking the questions that no one is asking, and learning about unconventional areas of OT practice. I'm passionate about all things related to occupational justice, advocacy, and mental health. As a student, I know how difficult it can be to find a comprehensive resource to facilitate and encourage participation in non-traditional areas. This website is driven by a single goal: to advocate for these amazing areas of OT with a focus on education, information sharing, and capacity building. By removing some of the preparatory work, I strive to make a positive impact and advocate for further involvement.

My level II fieldwork placements were in outpatient pediatrics at Cleveland Martin Health in Port St. Lucie, FL and inpatient mental health as part of the Post-deployment Rehabilitation and Evaluation Program at James A. Hayley Veteran's Hospital in Tampa, FL. My background includes bachelor's degrees in psychology and communication from the University of South Florida. I also served in the Peace Corps as a health extension specialist in Mongolia from 2014-2016.

Thank you for viewing my site. I hope it was helpful to you in some way. Please assist me in making this a valuable tool for all the unconventional OTs out there. Questions, concerns, or resources that you believe would be helpful are encouraged and welcomed. If you are willing to be interviewed or are interested in making a short video discussing your experience within a non-traditional practice area to have placed on this website, I would love to hear from you! Also, if you are an individual working in a non-traditional practice area who is willing to offer observation hours, serve as a fieldwork educator to a student, or serve as a mentor to a practicing therapist, PLEASE contact me. Check out the "Contributors" page to see others who have already dedicated their time and effort.

 Let's build bridges together!

Sincerely,

Jessica Morgan, OTS
